In front of the Hochegg stretches a veritable winter wonderland. Countless kilometres of pistes, cross-country skiing, toboggan runs and winter hiking trails are just waiting to be discovered. Winter experiences in Ötztal are many and varied: in addition to the 24 lifts and 110 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes on offer in the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area, you also get the chance to carve your turns under floodlights, or be the first to leave your tracks in the untouched powder snow with the “First Line” service. Looking for an unforgettable experience? Visit the observation deck on Top Mountain Star at over 3,000 metres above sea level - the view in winter is especially impressive. Away from the pistes, Ötztal has plenty more winter adventures to offer, for example, cross-country skiing in Obergurgl: 12 km of trails, 3 km of exercise trails and a 1 km floodlit path at snow-sure altitudes of nearly 2,000 meters promise pure enjoyment. The best thing is: all trails are suitable for skaters and classic cross-country skiers, and in addition they’re free. The Skischule Obergurgl also offers cross-country skiing courses. On a snowshoe hike, the Ötztal winter shows its gentler side. Go it solo, or take a guided tour through the deep, sparkling fields of powder snow, past idyllic huts and romantic forests like the Zirbenwald Natural Monument. A brisk lap around the ice or tobogganing also offer fun for the whole family. Don’t miss: the new, three-kilometre long, curvy, natural toboggan run at the Hochgurglbahn! In winter, the indoor golf adventure world attracts golf fans: the complex offers four modern simulators spread out over 700 m² and a 200 m² putting green for beginners and professionals.
